I believe Charlotte may have babbled her first real word today. She turned 7 months yesterday, so I'm expecting big things from her now.
Is this really "dada" or is at "bla bla?" She has been a fan of the "b" sound lately, but I think I see the tip of the tongue touching the roof of her mouth. Kyle, perhaps you could consult Montelle for her expert opinion?
And does anyone have any idea what "executive sweet" is supposed to mean?

I'm pretty sure I heard dada :)
Do you really want your SLP friend to comment on this? :) Definitely sounds like dada to me....a great babble with no meaning yet attached. She is just SO gorgeous (and a genius too of course!)
Amber, of course I want your opinion! Here's the next question...does it have to have meaning to count as her first word?
I think the answer to your question is yes. If the word doesn't really have meaning, then she's just babbling and practicing making and creating noises.
If she is looking at a particular person or thing and consistently making the same sound, then it's a real word. She's going to be a chatty one though.
It sounds like dada to me too. She is too cute, I cannot wait to see her, okay all of you, again!!!
Definetely 'da da.' Her voice is so precious! Matthew and I watched the video twice last night. We miss her :)
