Douglas Fir? Wow, if and when you do resell the house, you're going to get a lot of people in on that, not to mention the rest of your fix-ups. I can't wait to see it, maybe around tulip time.
Actually Patty, it's the natural color of the floor, unstained. Brian talked about keeping it light, but it really wouldn't blend with the rest of our woodwork.

It's looking great. I can see why he thought it was oak, it's got more patina than pine usually does. Maybe the age?
the pros actually said it's douglas fir based on the redness of the grain.
i'm pretty excited for this to be finished, the basement is really cold.
